The leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Sokoto State, has reiterated its support and loyalty to Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the party.
The party said its endorsement was hinged on the decision of party stakeholders, in Abuja, to support and recognized Senator Ahmed Makarfi as an authentic chairman of the party instead of Senator Ali Modu Sherrif as favour by the appeal court judgment of Port Harcourt, recently.
The party chairman in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma, disclosed this after a meeting with state executive members of the party and all the 23 local government party chairmen, held in Sokoto.
Milgoma described the agitators of supporting Senator Ali Sherrif as chairman in the state as ‘infiltrators’ who are hell bend of destroying what they did not build due to hatred and political intolerance and love of power by force in order to satisfying their own minds and political survival.
“We endorsed the decisions taken by our leaders, include the agreement of appeal to Supreme Court of the irrational judgment of the Appeal Court of Port Harcourt where it give our party to some group that has no business whatsoever with our survival.
“Therefore, we are abide by the resolution of the majority of our leaders and governors, include BoT in which we agree and support Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the party chairman”
Milgoma however commended the efforts of Senator Makarfi’s led exco in hurriedly appealing the judgment in order to douse the tension that created by certain judgment from Port Harcourt that would have destroyed the image and unity of the party.
